The Adventist Church in Banja Luka has its roots since 1954, when the first believers began to gather in private rooms and smaller halls. This was the beginning of organized Adventist life in the city, at a time when the movement was relatively new in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Despite modest conditions, the church was active and committed to spreading Adventist values—emphasizing family life, health, and preparing for the Second Coming of Christ.

After more than two decades of operation, the church received its permanent home. In 1980, the Christian Adventist Church was built in Milan Rakića Street 11, with an area of about 350 m², located in a quiet part of the city, about 800 meters from the center. This gave the Adventist Church a functional space for worship, prayer meetings and social activities, which meant institutionalizing and strengthening its presence in Banja Luka.

During the 1980s, the church became a recognizable gathering place. Regular programs, seminars on health, lectures on family values and educational workshops are organized. Adventists became involved in the cultural life of the city and built a reputation as a community that promotes discipline, health, and humanity.

The period of the war from 1992 to 1995 brought great challenges. The number of believers was reduced, and action was made more difficult. Nevertheless, the church remained preserved and continued to operate in difficult conditions, providing support to members and the local community.

After the war, the church resumed its activities and again became an active center of Adventist life. The church connected with the Western Church District within the Southeastern European Union of the Christian Adventist Church, thereby gaining institutional strength and connection to the wider Adventist network.

Today, the Adventist Church in Banja Luka functions as a spiritual and social center. It organizes worship services and prayer meetings, seminars on health and family relationships, as well as cultural and educational events for the local community. It is open for visits in the period from 08:00 to 16:00, and the contact phone is 051 217-603.

From the first gatherings in 1954, through the construction of the church building in 1980, the war trials and the post-war reconstruction, until the modern period, the Adventist Church in Banja Luka has remained consistent with its mission — to be a place of prayer, communion and social support.
